This explains what Arca collects about your family โ including your children โ how it's used, who else ever sees it, how long we keep it, and your rights as a parent. It's written for parents: children never sign up for this app themselves โ a parent enters their information and sets up the shared profile/passcode they use.
About your child(ren), entered by you: first name and age; an avatar (an icon you pick); chore/routine completion history and the resulting star/reward counts; and any calendar events, schedule blocks, or notes you associate with that child.
About you: your email (used only to email you a one-time sign-in code or link โ we never see a password); a parent PIN you choose (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text); and the name/checkboxes you provide right here.
Documents you choose to upload (optional): if you use "upload a document to read events from it," see Sharing below.
Solely to run the app for your family โ checklists, rewards, and your family calendar. Never for advertising, never sold or rented to anyone.
We never sell, rent, or share your family's information for marketing. We share information only with: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (web hosting โ never sees your checklist/calendar data), and, only if you turn on AI document/voice features, Anthropic (reads the file you upload, or what you say to "Hey Arca" when it needs AI help, to find events or understand a request; doesn't train on any of it, and keeps it only briefly). That's optional, off by default, and needs its own separate consent, which you can change anytime from Manage Calendar Events.
We keep your family's information for as long as your account is active. Email arca@arcaneas.com to request deletion โ of your whole account, or of just one feature's data โ and we'll act on it. Deleting your account permanently removes your family's name, your kids' names/ages/avatars, chore and reward history, your calendar, and your passcodes; nothing is kept afterward except an anonymous count with no identifying information.
Any time, email arca@arcaneas.com to review, correct, or delete your child's information; stop further collection; or revoke consent โ including just for the Anthropic document-reading/voice-command feature, which you can also turn off yourself in-app.
Data travels over encrypted connections and is stored with row-level security limiting each family's data to that family's own members. This is a small app run by Arcaneas LLC โ we apply the same basic safeguards regardless of size. Questions: arca@arcaneas.com.
Photos, screenshots, or PDFs -- a season schedule, a flyer, anything with dates on it. Files you upload here are sent to Anthropic's Claude to read. This also lets "Hey Arca" use AI to add chores or mark them done by voice, not just check today's schedule.
Want to add events by uploading a photo or PDF, or add/check off chores by voice with "Hey Arca"? Turning this on sends what you upload or say (when it needs AI help) to Anthropic (maker of the Claude AI model) -- see the Privacy Notice for details. Off by default; you can turn it off again any time.
Add a kid
A new kid starts with a general starter checklist โ edit it from Manage chores once they're added. The app reloads right after adding, editing, or deleting a kid so it syncs everywhere.
